UniSport Nationals Div 1 & 2

Become a Victoria University (VU) Vulture and represent the University at Australia’s premier tertiary sporting competition.

The Unisport Nationals gives you the opportunity to compete against students from 43 other member universities across Australia in a number of sports striving to become national champions.

Division 1

The Nationals Div 1 event will see the top 10 universities for each sport come together to compete against the best of the best to gain or retain championship glory.

The 2019 Nationals Div 1 competition will be held on the Gold Coast from Sunday 29 September to Friday 4 October.

Division 2

The 2019 UniSport Nationals Div 2 event will be held in July during the mid-year break. This event allows students to compete against other student athletes from across Australia, and provides teams with the opportunity to qualify for the premier Nationals Div 1 event.

The 2019 Nationals Division 2 competition will be held on the Gold Coast from Sunday 7 July to Friday 12 July.

The Nationals Snow

VU students interested in snow sports can represent VU in snowboarding, skiing and cross-country skiing. 

It's all the fun and ferocity of the regular Nationals, just on snow! The Nationals Snow event attracts student athletes from all over Australia to engage and participate in snow sports.

Sports offered

  • Freestyle: Moguls, Skier Cross, Slopestyle, Rail.
  • Alpine: Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G.
  • Snowboard: Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G, Boarder Cross, Slopestyle, Rails.
  • Cross country: Individual, Team.

The 2019 Nationals Snow competition will be held at Thredbo from Sunday 25 August to Thursday 29 August.

National Championships

There are a number of sports which don't fit into the main Nationals Div 1, Div 2 or Snow events.

These sports cater for the more-unique individual and team sports. The various events are spread across the entire year, with students from all across Australia competing in their specialty events.

Become a VU Sport Team Manager

In preparation for the 2019 National competitions, VU is searching for Sport Team Managers to join the Vultures leadership team, recognised under the Student Leadership Framework.

Sport Team Managers will provide assistance in the training and selection of their team, among other responsibilities, including recruitment, planning, team administration and other tasks to get the team ready for competition.

Intervarsity Challenges

Looking to mix your love of sport and having fun with representing your University. In addition to touring and competing at premier championships as part of Unisport Nationals, VU participates in a range of intervarsity challenges against other Victorian Universities, providing students the opportunity to compete locally.

Whether it be a multisport or a sport specific head to head challenge the competitive spirit is still fierce.
