On Friday 10 October 2014, Student Life will be hosting Volunteer For You (V4U) day.
V4U is a fun day-long event where the VU community get together and volunteer their time and skills to a variety of projects throughout western Melbourne. It's a dynamic way for us to give back to the local community and thank them for their ongoing support.
V4U was recognised as the Best Australian University Event in 2012 - so volunteer for V4U day to join in the fun and gain recognition for giving back.
We will provide lunch, t-shirt and cap, participant recognition and a celebration event.
Activities on the day
You can volunteer to work on a variety of projects, including:
- working with children, youth, elderly and people with disabilities
- physical work and maintenance e.g. painting and gardening
- sporting events.
Organisations you'll be working with:
- The Braybrook and Maidstone Neighbourhood House
- Conservation Volunteers Australia
- Footscray Aged Care.
Organisations we hope to work with in 2014:
- AMES
- Foodbank Victoria
- Local schools.
