VU set to compete at Australian University Games

Victoria University is once again proud to be competing in the Australian University Games (AUG). The AUG is Australia's largest annual multi-sport event attracting over 6,500 students.

VU is joining over 40 universities across Australia to compete in 31 sports across major sporting venues in the city of Adelaide, SA. Our squad of 195 students will also be enjoying the six night social program incorporating the Opening Ceremony and VU team dinners throughout the week. In 2011, 186 students competed in a variety of sports with a total of 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Uniform presentation

The team launch and uniform presentation was held on Wednesday evening in the Active Courtyard at the Footscray Park campus and was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Greg Baxter and Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Dawkins who presented team managers for each sport with their uniform. The pre games function formally recognise student athletes, team managers and coaches and adds to the excitement and camaraderie that will develop during the week.
