Karen is a lecturer in the College of Education and works in the Partnership Office in the area of Student Support.
Karen has been both a primary classroom teacher and a specialist PE teacher. She has also worked as a consultant for the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) where she was a statewide Professional Development consultant. Whilst working in Professional Development she developed a keen interest in teacher welfare and was appointed as the Rehabilitation Consultant for Western Region.
She was then seconded to DEECD to write and trial the Whole School Approach to Discipline, an initiative that reduced teacher stress in the 20 pilot schools.
She has been lecturing and working part time in a student support role for over 20 years at VU. She also has her own Consultancy company that provides professional development statewide.
