O-Fest at Victoria University

What's on at Orientation

Everything is free during O-Fest, so come along to as many events as you like. You'll make new friends and learn about life at Victoria University.

You can take a tour of your campus, learn how to use the library, WebCT and the MyVU student portal or get physical at a Zumba class or at the rock climbing wall. Make sure you attend your College welcome, this is where you will meet your lecturers and other students in your course.

Uni Ready

Victoria University invites all new students to attend our UniReady sessions on 19-23 February 2013. These sessions are designed to help you prepare you for life at VU. Sessions will be held at City Flinders, Footscray Park and St Albans campuses.

Choose the most convenient time and place for you. You can participate in the sessions either consecutively or on separate days, in whichever order.

Get tech savvy. Set up your login details and your student email. Check out the VU website and get tips on using the Library site and resources. Finally, find out what WebCT is. Bookings are essential.

 UniReady 2 Various Limited spaces - register now
A 3-hour introduction to University life, with a particular focus on academic and study skills. This workshop will familiarise you with the University setting, explaining in some detail what is expected of you as a student, which study skills you’ll need to harness, and how academic writing, assessments and feedback can work for you! Bookings are essential.

Evening orientation

Can't make it during the day? Not a problem, we are hosting an orientation information session. Find out everything you need to know  about support services, administration, take a tour of the campus and chat to staff. A child care service will be operating on the night so bring the kids!

Orientation events for everyone

We have three key events that are open to all new VU students. Come along and meet people from other campuses.

Friday, 22 February

10:00am - 2:00pm Step Up Day Footscray park campus,
Building P courtyard		 Register to attend this event
A fun-filled day full of games and social activities. Make new friends with people you will studying with over the next few years. There'll be a free lunch too!

Friday, 1 March

9:30am - 4:00pm Beach day Footscray Park Active Courtyard, Building M, Level 00. Buses will transport us to Williamstown beach Register and pay now!
Spend a day by the beach before the summer is over! Enjoy the day swimming, playing beach volleyball, Frisbee, team games and having fun! This event is $10 per person, which includes lunch, snacks, drinks and transport to and from Williamstown Beach. Register now as spots are limited.

Bring your family and friends on a campus tour and experience life at VU. There will be heaps fun activities, eg face painting and a jumping castle. You can also pick up any information you may have missed during Orientation.
