The friendly and dedicated International Student Support (ISS) team at Victoria University International is committed to supporting you from your arrival through to when you become an alumnus of the university.

We want to ensure that your time as a student at Victoria University (VU) is as rewarding as possible. 

 Support available

We want your experience at Victoria University to be a positive one. We understand the challenges that international students face when trying to adjust to a new culture and environment, making new friends, and successfully completing your studies all at the same time. Be assured you are not alone - we are here to help you with any question or concern.

We offer you:

  • free airport reception service on your first arrival to Victoria University (this must be pre-booked)
  • an orientation and enrolment program to assist with your transition to living in Melbourne and studying at Victoria University
  • assistance and support on cultural issues, transition to life in Melbourne and study concerns or any other general questions you may have
  • support and encouragement
  • a range of social activities and programs
  • assistance with introducing you to relevant services or identifying who you should speak to in solving your question
  • an after-hours hotline
  • a farewell program to assist you in your transition to returning home or applying for another course with an opportunity to celebrate your accomplishments

The ISS team are committed to guiding and supporting you through your time at Victoria University. Members of the ISS team are permanently located at two Victoria University campuses. If you are located on another campus, please contact us and we will arrange to meet with you at your campus.

Our offices are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. 

After hours assistance

When offices on campus are closed, VU international students can call the after-hours telephone hotline 1800 758 350 for immediate advice and assistance on a wide range of issues from health and safety concerns.

Sometimes your question can be resolved over the phone or you can make an enquiry or email iss@vu.edu.au for assistance.
