Associate Director, Youth

Jo's role is to lead the development and implementation of the University's Youth Strategy.

Her most recent position at VU was Head of the School of Sport and Science in the Faculty of Workforce Development. Her role was to provide educational leadership and direction for teachers and students.

Jo has previously worked for the Outdoor Education Group (a not for profit educational provider for post primary schools) and has a keen interest in outdoor pursuits. She was recognised by the Pioneering Women's Museum for her participation in the First Australian Descent of the Yukon River in Alaska. 

Her role at the Outdoor Education Group was Deputy CEO, where she was responsible for the strategic direction for educational delivery, research, marketing, risk management and partnership development. The main focus of the role was leading the organisation through significant organisational change to improve educational delivery.

  • Executive officer for the Victorian Outdoor Education Association
  • Head of Outdoor Education at St Michael's Grammar School in St Kilda
  • Head of Outdoor Education at Haileybury College
  • Community Facilitator for the South Gippsland Landcare Network
  • Teacher of Management at Monash College
