International community development symposium

This event has already taken place.

Thursday 20 October 2016

Come and hear our Master in International Community Development students present on their research projects.

The symposium highlights the breadth of projects students have been involved in and what they have discovered in their research.

Topics include:

  • Bottling Change: Case study of organisational management in a small start-up trying to reduce plastic in Bali
  • The role of Local Government in helping communities prevent violence against women and advance gender equity
  • Engaged rural communities: enhancing local knowledge and empowerment through community development training

We will be very fortunate to have Annie Feith welcome us on the night. Annie is a long-term human rights advocate and community development worker. She has been instrumental in the development of this bi-annual symposium over the past decade.

Annie has supervised and mentored countless students in her years as Community Development Fieldwork Coordinator at VU.
