Postgraduate conference on communication research & digital cultures

The College of Arts invites you to an exciting one day conference on communication research and digital cultures.

The conference is free and open to all VU staff, students and the wider community.

Program

8:30am: Registration

Registration is from 8:30am - 9:00am.

9:00am - 12:00pm: Communication student presentations

Postgraduate Communication student presentations from coursework and minor thesis research, followed by discussion and feedback.

12:00pm - 1.00pm: lunch

Catering provided.

1:00pm - 3:00pm: Engagement with the experts

Keynote speaker John Thompson (VU Ambassador and Managing Director of Mitchell and Partners’ Victorian Government Team) will speak about his work managing high level media and communication teams.

Afterwards there will be an opportunity for students, alumni and Communication industry friends to network.

3:30pm - 5:00pm: Academic panel: Research and the digital communication environment

There will be three speakers on the panel:

• Associate Professor Kristin Demetrious (Deakin University)
• Dr Anthony McCosker (Swinburne University)
• Suneel Jethani, PhD Student (Melbourne University).
