Award ceremony recognises outstanding achievements

Last night the Faculty of Technical and Trades Innovation recognised the outstanding achievements of students and staff at the Faculty's Annual Awards evening.

Victoria University's Deputy Chancellor, Ms Prue Willsford presented awards to 40 students in celebration of their hard work, passion and perseverance. Students were acknowledged at the Sunshine Convention Centre in front of Family, friends and industry Sponsors.

VU is proud of our diverse award recipients who have set themselves apart from their peers to produce outstanding results. The award citations made humbling reading as they revealed the struggles faced and the challenges overcome by some recipients.

Faculty staff were also acknowledged for their ongoing determination, effort and support of students and peers.

The Faculty of Technical and Trades Innovation will have a new name in 2013, but our commitment to vocational education and training remains strong. As the Trades College, Victoria University will continue to provide Pre-apprenticeship and Apprenticeship courses for Bricklaying; Carpentry & Joinery; Commercial Cookery Electrical; Fabrication Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Furniture Studies; Hairdressing; Plumbing and Sign Industry and VET in Schools programs. The Trades College will continue to offer post trade qualifications and programs tailored to industry needs.
