The University's Victoria Graduate School of Business hosted a public forum this week on the merits of a hung parliament as we head to the polls in Victoria on 27 November.
Speakers were evenly divided on the question of whether a minority government with the balance of power held by independents and minor parties would be a good outcome.
Those in favour were the Independent MP for Gippsland East, Craig Ingram, and Victoria University management and electoral analyst Professor John Zeleznikow.
Vice-Chancellor's Fellow and former finance minister in the Rudd/Gillard Government, Lindsay Tanner, and CEO of the Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Wayne Kayler-Thomson, were less enthusiastic.
The forum received some solid media coverage in The Age, ABC Radio's PM program and The Australian.
