Victoria University 2011 three minute thesis competition

The Office for Postgraduate Research (OPR) and Victoria University Postgraduate Association (VUPA) are pleased to announce the annual Victoria University Three Minute Thesis Competition (3MT).
 
The competition invites postgraduate students to present a three-minute speech on their thesis topic and its significance to the wider community.
 
Contestants are allowed a single PowerPoint slide, and must use language appropriate to an intelligent but non-specialist audience.  
 
Entry is open to all Victoria University PhD, Masters by Research and Research Professional Doctorate candidates (DBA, EdD, DSW).
 
Heats will be conducted within each Faculty, and the judging panel will nominate their top students to compete in the Victoria University 3MT Grand Final. Competitors in the VU Grand Final have the chance to win $2000 towards research expenses, an Apple iPad2, alongside other cash prizes. The grand final winner will go on to compete in the Australia and New Zealand 3MT Grand Final at the University of Western Australia in Perth. First prize also includes flights and accommodation in Perth, WA.
