Launch of Offset as an Open Access online journal

Victoria University Library has provided the publishing support to the College of Arts to launch Offset as an Open Access online journal.

Offset is a creative arts journal that was first published in 2001 by Dr Ian Syson as a vehicle for third-year College of Arts students to put into practice writing, editing and publishing skills. Each year, a team of third-year students from the College of Arts produces and publishes the journal which consists of prose, poetry, artwork, textiles, sculptures and multimedia. The latest issue features writer Van Badham, artist Ted Takeshi Doré and musician Ma Petite.

According to the Offset Team 2014, the launch of the online version enables Offset ‘to be used as an academic tool for inspiration and learning beyond the walls of Victoria University’.

Back issues (2009-2013) are also available through the online archives, with feature writer contributions from major writers and performers such as Michael Hyde, Alice Garner, Kate Holden and Nazeem Hussain.
