High intensity interval training research

Victoria University researchers are currently investigating the effect of high intensity interval training (HIT) sessions on overweight individuals. PhD researcher Lewan Parker is currently looking for participants to assist in research on this topic.

 PhD research into the effects of HIT training.

To be eligible to participate in the study on HIT in overweight individuals you must be:

  • male or female
  • aged 18-40 years
  • BMI > 25 kg/m2
  • not regularly exercising
  • free from cardiovascular disease, diabetes and not taking medications that influence blood sugar levels.
 

Participants will complete an exercise protocol and survey/s, and blood samples will be taken to test sugar and other health markers. Participants will be reimbursed $30 for their time.
