I am pleased to advise that industrial action that was planned to take place at Victoria University this week has been averted. Classes and services will now continue as scheduled and without disruption on Thursday 05 March and Friday 06 March.
There has been considerable discussion with members of the National Tertiary Education Union over the last two days and I am hopeful that we can finalise a Collective Agreement and at the same time continue the important work underway to ensure a sustainable future for our University.
We will provide further information on the discussions between the University and the NTEU in the next week as well as advice regarding industrial action foreshadowed for next week and the following week.
I thank students and staff for their patience and understanding through this process.
