A hand is creating art by ‘drawing’ with sand on a blank surface.
The drawing is constantly evolving to show the following scenes:
- A globe with Australia in the centre, stars in the sky and arrows coming around the globe. A plane on one of the arrows signifies people travelling to Australia.
- The globe is shown as being outside an aeroplane window, with a woman looking at it.
- A large outline of Australia is drawn in the centre of the image, with a star in the place of Melbourne and a large aeroplane over the Pacific Ocean.
- A cloud with rain is drawn under the aeroplane, Australia becomes a continuation of the cloud.
- A building is drawn on the left hand side. The cloud and aeroplane are erased.
- A diamond appears in the sky, it becomes the Victoria University (VU) logo with the text ‘Victoria University’ below it.
- Figures are drawn, walking toward the University building, some with suitcases or bags. These figures show people of different races, religions, ages and genders and represent the cultural diversity at Victoria University.
- The figures are then sat in a lecture theatre.
- More smiling people are drawn in a library.
- More figures are drawn, standing in a circle and joining hands in the middle.
- The screen is cleared and hands are drawn, coming together in the middle of the screen to signify togetherness and friendship.
- A circle is drawn on top of the hands with the text ‘cultural diversity at VU’ in the centre and the words ‘enrich’, ‘celebrate’ and ‘connect’ around the central text.
- The hands underneath the circle are erased. New hands are drawn holding the circle and forming a heart shape around it.
- The screen is cleared and the VU logo is drawn with text below that reads ‘Victoria University. Thank you! An initiative of Victoria University Student Union (VUSU)’.
