Steve began working with the First Year College teaching in the Outdoor Leadership field in Feb 2020.

Previously, Steve worked for 26 years in secondary education as a Physical and Outdoor Education teacher, whilst taking on various leadership roles.

In 2011 Steve took to running his own outdoor education company which provided him with an insight as to the level of training and expertise young people were entering the industry with. It also allowed him to view education from the other side, whilst still being actively sought after to run and develop school programs from year 4 through to tertiary levels. The opportunity to become a sessional trainer at GOTAFE provided Steve with the impetus to further understand the training process outdoor guides were going through.

In moving to Victoria University, Steve has begun working with young outdoor leaders and is excited to be able to assist young leaders in gaining the skill sets required for working in the outdoors.

Steve has a great passion for adventure and in particular the development of climbing training and ocean sports.
