Sam Hoang is a Research Fellow in the Centre for International Research on Education Systems (CIRES) at Mitchell Institute, Victoria University.
Prior to joining CIRES, Sam worked as a Research Fellow at Melbourne Centre for the Study of Higher Education at Melbourne University, Policy Analyst at Mitchell Institute (Victoria University) and Research Assistant at Monash University.
Sam has nearly 10 years of experience conducting research projects across all sectors of education. His research areas include:
- Internationalisation in higher education
- Vocational education and training (VET)
- Casualisation in higher education
- Academic identity and professional development programs for academics
- Student transitions to tertiary education, training and work
- Student outcomes.
Sam also brings to his role in CIRES seven years of experience as an English language teacher and lecturer in Vietnam and Australia.
