Sam Dang is an Academic Teaching Scholar in the First Year College. He teaches a range of first year education units.
As part of his masters degree, Sam investigated how early childhood teachers in the VET sector teach their students in ways that encourage students to develop their dispositions for learning.
Prior to commencing as a permanent teaching scholar, Sam worked at Victoria University Polytechnic as part of the early childhood and education support team teaching in a number of courses, including:
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
- Certificate IV in Education Support.
Sam has been on a study tour to Vietnam. He actively contributed to the collaborative design and successful implementation of the organisation-wide, blended-learning project. This role has provided opportunities for Sam to establish partnerships with a variety of stakeholders, including community partners and international educators.
Sam’s professional experience includes working in the early childhood sector and primary schools, and spending considerable time volunteering in the Starlight Express room at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
