Lyn is passionate about providing and promoting innovative educational approaches that engage students to enjoy and successfully complete tertiary study.
Her career in education spans the school, TAFE and Higher Education sectors where she has had roles as teacher, manager, leader and mentor. Lyn joined VU in 2001 and has been a member of the Academic Board, Deputy Chair of the Courses Committee and is currently in her second term as a member of the Victoria University Council. She has skills and expertise in leadership, management, curriculum development, group facilitation and governance.
In her current role as Associate Director, Improving Learning and Teaching within the Centre for Collaborative Learning and Teaching Lyn leads a team who support teaching staff across the University, developing innovative educational approaches and applications for grants and awards. The team facilitates teacher groups, provides professional development including teacher qualifications, and undertakes learning and teaching evaluation research.
Lyn has postgraduate qualifications in Education and Social Work, having practiced teaching and leading teams in both disciplines. She is an experienced counsellor and family therapist and is committed to working in the public sector. She is particularly interested in distributed leadership, resilience and educational equity and access for disadvantaged communities and groups.
