Louise is an Academic Teaching Scholar in the First Year College at Victoria University.

She teaches into a range of subjects with a social work focus, including the first year social work units, as well as youth work, community development and human rights.

Louise has an extensive professional background as a social worker, working with children and families in the child protection system. Louise has a particular interest in ethical evidence-based social work practice, exploring the inherent tensions of empowerment-based practice in the context of statutory obligations.

She remains active in the child and family welfare sector consulting with the Department of Health and Human Services on projects related to child and family safety, child protection and family violence.

Louise is very passionate about working with students at Victoria University, collaborating with them as they learn about and explore their chosen career path.
