Corene is a teaching focused academic with the First Year College. She is unit convenor and co-convenor of the dual-degree midwifery units for First Year College.

She has had an extensive midwifery career working in the UK before migrating and working in Australia. In the UK she worked as a hospital and team-based community midwife, providing holistic care to women and their families across all areas of maternity.

Within Australia she worked as both and clinical educator and Associate Midwifery Unit Manager for Western Health before joining Victoria University. She also supported the Maternity Connect Program run by the Department of Health to provide education to rural midwives across Victoria.

Corene joined Victoria University 7 years ago to pursue her educational career, initially as the midwifery facilitator in the Self-Directed Learning laboratory and currently as a teaching focused academic based at St Albans Campus.
