Corene is a Teaching Focused Academic with the First Year College in the areas of nursing and midwifery.

Corene has had an extensive midwifery career working in both Australia and the UK. She has worked as a community midwife in the UK, providing holistic care to women and their families across all areas of maternity. Corene has worked as an Associate Midwifery Unit Manager and she has also supported the Maternity Connect Program run by the Department of Health to provide education to rural midwives across Victoria.

Corene has been teaching at Victoria University for four years, initially as a facilitator in the Self-Directed Learning laboratory before transitioning to a teaching focused role.
