Build your leadership skills and learn to drive motivation with the Strategic Management unit.

You will investigate different strategies to deal with the unknown and think like a strategist.

You will learn to:

  • analyse your business and its environment
  • make critical business decisions
  • build the skills needed to present recommendations to achieve long-term organisational goals
  • guide an organisation to success in the face of market uncertainties.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Critique and review the strategic management concepts that contribute to the effective management of organisational resources and critique the role of culture, values and dispositions in achieving specified goals;
  2. Devise and apply selective strategic decision-making processes to identify strategic options and develop a strategic plan for a business organisation in a market of uncertainty, and justify the conclusions and/or recommendations drawn;
  3. Critique and reflect on the current and planned capabilities of the business organisation to synthesise and recommend sustainable practices in a dynamic and uncertain business setting; and,
  4. Collaboratively prepare and present relevant strategic management knowledge and principles in a clear and coherent manner demonstrating intellectual independence and the initiation and development of new ideas.
