Award-winning Louise Knuiksis is quickly advancing to a successful career in the medical cosmetic industry.

VU’s pathways program enabled me to fast-track through the selection process so the transition from diploma to degree was very easy.

I love that the course was so hands on. I completed my workplace learning at two businesses, which gave me a good understanding of how salons operate. Working with real clients was invaluable.

Right from orientation week I was determined to be the best. For my diploma studies I won outstanding student awards from the faculty and the University overall, and in 2011 I won the Hair and Beauty Industry Association award for most outstanding beauty therapy student in Victoria.

I’m currently working at a cosmetic medical clinic doing beauty therapy treatments while I finish my degree. Long-term I’d like to have my own medi-spa clinic."
