Pia Del Mastro’s business degree gave her the edge in the music business.

"I was stuck in a course that was too general and which I found uninteresting. I wanted to study something I was passionate about.

I’d been involved in the dance music scene as a teenager so I switched to the Bachelor of Business (Music Industry) degree at VU. It had a good reputation. All of my lecturers had industry experience and provided forward-thinking, up-to-date and relevant training.

I now work in the touring division of a Melbourne-based touring and entertainment group, Totem Onelove. They manage some massive events, including Australia’s biggest electronic dance music festival, Stereosonic.

I’ve also started a side company, my Dj Bio, writing biographies for DJs, producers and vocalists here and overseas.

I love what I do. In future I hope to represent some of the most sought after and rising international electronic artists."
