With the support of his teachers, Cameron Scott didn’t let his disability impact his studies.

"I suffer from myotonic dystrophy, a type of muscular dystrophy that causes muscle wasting and weakness. I get tired easily and as a result didn’t do well at the start of uni.

My teachers liaised with my family regularly and kept them informed of my needs and progress. I also made use of the disability services at VU, including the disability resource room at St Albans Campus.

Thanks to the support of my family and teachers, I completed my diploma and am now undertaking my advanced diploma. I’m really grateful to IT teacher Shane Mengaziol for all the help he has given me during my time at VU, including the specially tailored video tutorials and one-on-one sessions.

I’m now so much more confident and have greatly improved my IT knowledge and skills."
