Mahmut (Sami) Kilinc completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Building Engineering) at VU in 2008 and says that those years of study were some of the most valuable years of his life. 

"I am currently working for POSTENCO, a new specialist engineering contracting company that provides design solutions and installation for post-tensioning of building systems. Every day I visit four to five building construction sites around Melbourne. The nature of my work and the problems I must solve are constantly challenging and always interesting.

Today I stand on level 13 of the $350 million multi-storey building I am working on overlooking the Docklands at South Wharf. I often think of my time studying at VU. The four years of study were perhaps the most valuable years of my life.

The VU Building Engineering degree has enabled me to work in a young, dynamic building company with expanding prospects in the Australian building industry."
