Library PIN
Your library personal identification number (PIN) is used along with your Student or Staff ID number to access online library resources and services including databases, eBooks, eJournals, eReserve, online videos and My Library.
Students: If you have never entered a PIN, the default will be your date of birth in ddmmyyyy format.
Other users: No default PIN. Follow the instructions below to create a PIN.
You library PIN is managed through My Library.

Modify your PIN
- Login to My Library
- To change your PIN, click on 'Modify Your PIN'
- Enter your existing PIN and the new PIN you wish to use then click 'Submit '
- Your new PIN is now in place.
Create PIN
Create a pin only if you are an external borrower, past student (alumni), new staff member or have had your PIN deleted from the system.
- Go to My Library
- Type in your ID number/barcode and click 'Submit'
- Enter your PIN
- Confirm your PIN and click 'Submit'.
Forgot your PIN? / Reset PIN
- Go to My Library
- Click on 'Forgot your PIN?'
- A pop-up will appear
- Key in your Victoria University Staff/Student ID Number (non-VU users should enter their barcode number)
- Click on the 'submit' button
- An email will be sent to your default email address recorded on the system - this is a system-generated email and may take 15-20 minutes to arrive
- Follow the instructions in the email to set your new pin
- Please note your current PIN will remain unchanged until a new PIN is set-up using the link in the email.
