Each of the Centres provides an educational program that is based on the interests and needs of individual children, and the group as a whole. Encouragement and respect is given to children’s individuality and style and rate at which they learn. An indoor/outdoor program is offered allowing children to experience a variety of activities giving them the greatest avenue for learning and developing.
Currently the four Victoria University Children's Centre’s are accredited by the National Childcare Accreditation Council. From 2012 The Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA), is responsible for the implementation of the National Quality Framework: http://www.acecqa.gov.au.
Most families are entitled to receive Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR). Families need to be registered with the Family Assistance Office to assess their entitlement to CCB and CCR. For further information contact the Family Assistance Office on 13 61 50, visit your local Centrelink office or refer to http://www.familyassist.gov.au.
The requirements for licensing and regulations of the Children Services is the responsibility of the Department of Education & Early Childhood Department. Victoria University Children's Services are subject to the Victorian Children's Services Act 1998 and the Children's Services Regulations 2009.
