Open Day 2025 Competition terms & conditions
By entering the 2025 Open Day Registration Competition ("the Promotion"), you (“the Entrant”) agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
Terms & conditions
- All information on 'how to enter' forms part of these Terms and Conditions. By entering into these Terms and Conditions, the Entrant warrants that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.
- The Promoter is Victoria University (ABN: 83 776 954 731, CRICOS Provider No. 00124K) PO Box 14428, Melbourne, Victoria 8001.
- The Promotion commences on Friday 21 February 2025 at 8:00am AEST and closes on Sunday 24 August 2025 at 3:00pm AEST (“The Promotion Period”). Any entry that is not received during The Promotion Period will be invalid.
- Entrants will receive a confirmation email at the time of their entry.
- The draw will take place at 2pm AEST on Thursday 28 August 2025 at Victoria University, Footscray Park Campus.
- The Promoter will randomly select five Entrants (each a “Winner” or collectively “Winners”).
- The Promoter will contact the Winners by telephone (if available) and email to confirm the Entrant is the winning entry on Friday 29 August 2025.
- If contacted by the Promoter, you have 14 days to respond to the Promoter’s contact and accept the prize according to the terms and conditions set out below. If you do not respond, once that period has lapsed, you forfeit your prize, and VU will select another Winner. Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified.
- The Winners’ names will be published on the Victoria University website https://www.vu.edu.au and the Victoria University Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/victoriauniversity/
Eligibility
To be eligible to claim a Prize, you must meet the following criteria:
- Entrants must:
- be an Australian Resident, Australian citizen, Australian Permanent resident, NZ citizen or holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa;
- be aged 15 years and over;
- be an individual (not a company or other entity);
- attend one of the following Victoria University Open Days, as verified by on-the-day attendance registration
- Footscray Campus Open Day on 17 August 2025; or
- City Tower Open Day on 24 August 2025
- be newly commencing students enrolled in an eligible course (as described below) at Victoria University in first year units by Monday 23 February 2026. Eligible courses are Victoria University postgraduate, undergraduate or TAFE courses (excluding Free TAFE courses) that have a minimum duration of 1-year full-time study.
- Entrants must not be:
- employees or immediate family members of the Promoter; or
- associated agencies and/or companies any way involved in the Promotion.
- Incomplete, illegible, or incorrect entries, or entries containing offensive or defamatory comments, or which breach any law or infringe any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights, will not be eligible to win.
How to enter
- Entrants must complete all required sections of the Open Day registration entry form and attend an Open Day event.
- Entrants may enter in the Promotion once only.
- Entrants must apply during The Promotion Period as above.
By entering the Promotion, the Entrant agrees and acknowledges that:
- The Promoter will collect the Entrant’s personal information, including the Entrant’s name, likeness, email address and picture/s for the Promoter’s promotional and publicity purposes, which it will keep in accordance with the VU privacy policy, located at http://www.vu.edu.au/privacy
- By entering the Promotion, the Entrant agrees to receive information and marketing communications from Victoria University.
- In the event that the Entrant is a Winner of the Promotion, the Entrant consents to the disclosure, publication and dissemination of their name and likeness for the purposes of the Promotion, and VU’s advertising and marketing purposes (as a Winner of the Promotion).
- The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries not received for any reason during the Promotion Period. No responsibility will be taken for lost, late, incorrect, or misdirected entries. The Promoter is not responsible for technical difficulties with the entry mechanism and does not warrant that the entry mechanism will be available at all times.
Prize details
- The Prizes are 5 x Victoria University grants to the value of $2,000 each applied as credit toward the course fees for the Winners’ eligible study at Victoria University. Prizes will be applied after the 2026 Semester 1 Block 2 Census Date, and are subject to the following conditions:
- the Winners must maintain full-time or part-time study load during the 2026 academic year. If the required study load is not maintained:
- If the Prize has already been applied, any remaining credit will be refunded to the Promoter
- If the Prize has not yet been applied (i.e. the Winner withdraws or defers before the relevant Census Date) the Winner will not be eligible to claim any credit.
- No additional Winners will be drawn if a Winner does not meet the conditions.
- The Prize is not refundable, convertible to cash, or transferable to another individual, commencing study period, or course.
- the Winners must maintain full-time or part-time study load during the 2026 academic year. If the required study load is not maintained:
- By accepting the Prize, the Winners agree to the requirements and conditions of this Prize.
- The prize value is correct as at the date of printing.
- The prize is not transferable or exchangeable.
Decision final
- In all matters, all decisions of Victoria University and its staff will be final and cannot be contested. No correspondence or discussions will be entered.
