Dive in to higher education
Victoria University is currently offering five Dip. into Degree courses. The one year Diploma provides a streamlined pathway straight into the second year of the Bachelor degree, with full credit for the first year of the corresponding degree.
You complete the diploma to the same academic standard as those completing the first year of the degree.
You also graduate with two qualifications – a diploma and a degree (OR you can exit into the workforce after one year with a diploma qualification).

Course structure
The Dip. into Degree courses are full-time. Contact hours for the diploma are higher than the first year of the degree course and will consist of an 18 week semester and a higher number of weekly contact hours.
Who it is for
These Diploma to a Degree courses are ideal if you aspire to do a degree but aren’t quite ready because you:
- didn’t achieve the ATAR score for your preferred degree course
- need to develop more in depth knowledge and skills in a particular discipline area
- need to improve your academic skills
- have had a break from study and need preparation to return to study (mature age)
- are within the workforce / have industry experience but don’t have a qualification (mature age).

A supportive learning environment
You receive additional support:
- for developing / refreshing the foundation skills and knowledge you require to undertake the degree
- with essential study skills
- for improving language, literacy and numeracy
Small class sizes give you ready access to the teacher, which will make the transition to tertiary education a more positive experience.
