Pruning Fruit Trees

This three hour course has been designed to teach you the correct methods for pruning fruit trees in your garden, ensuring production of fruit at a safe picking height. Students will learn via demonstrations from an experienced pruner.

Learn the skills necessary to:

  • choose the correct season to prune stone fruit and pome fruit (apples and pears)
  • determine fruit buds from leaf buds
  • select the right pruning tools
  • understand hygiene and pest and disease control.
