Print Making for Beginners

Learn the basic skills and techniques for producing lino and wood cuts using both black and white and colour inks. You will take home an edition of five plus artists proofs.
Requirements for the first class: scissors, pencil or pencils, eraser and a range of collected images, either your own or reproductions, for example, photos or magazine pictures, one of which you would like to develop as a design. You will be guided by your tutor in the selection of one of these images.

Course contents
Delivered over three Saturdays, 3 hours each workshop this course provides an introduction to the printmaking process—you will learn the basic skills and techniques for producing linocuts and woodcuts using both black and white and colour inks. Requirements for the first class: scissors, pencil or pencils, eraser and a range of collected images, either your own or reproductions, for example, photos or magazine pictures, one of which you would like to develop as a design. You will be guided by your tutor in the selection of one of these images.
You will be taught by a practicing artist, see demonstrations and have studio time where you will receive one-on-one tuition, learn about papers and printing processes via printing a small edition and be introduced to artwork by various printmakers.
