The Introduction to Education Agent Practice is a self-paced online short course aimed at providing students with the following:
- Overview and introduction to relevant areas of education agent practice;
- Understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework;
- Understanding of an education agent's role in the ‘student life cycle’;
- Introduction to legislation and policy relevant to the education agent industry;
- Understanding of agent rights, responsibilities and liabilities;
- Understanding of management procedures and risk management; and
- Appreciation of ethical dilemmas and decision making associated with practicing as an educational agent and operating a professional service business.
This Course also provides a pathway for entry into the Professional Course in Education Agent Practice, where students can build upon knowledge and skills obtained in the introductory online course.

Course contents
The Introduction to Education Agent Practice short course is self-paced and delivered online via Victoria University's online learning management system. The short course comprises of 6 modules. Students will be required to complete readings, self-assessment tasks (such as case study exercises) and self-review multiple choice questions in each of the modules. Students will have one month to complete the short course from the date of enrolment.

Module 3 - Introduction to Legislation and Policy
Module 4 - Practice Management
Module 5 - Ethics and Professional Standards
Module 6 - Duties and Responsibilities of an Agent
