Course Objectives

The course aims to provide the knowledge and skills required for a person working as a Human Resources officer with responsibility for all HR functions or a middle level HR manager in a large organisation and/ or articulate into a relevant area of higher education.

Units and electives

One year full-time. Time required to complete the course will vary according to the delivery and assessment mode offered. NB: this accelerated course includes Certificate IV in Business (Human Resources). Please contact the School for advice. Recognition of Prior Learning may apply. Students must successfully complete a minimum of 8 units – 3 core units plus 5 elective.

At least 3 electives must be selected from the elective list for this qualification provided in the training package (aligned at AQF4). The other 2 elective units may be selected from the remaining elective units listed in the Training Package for this qualification or from any course in the BSB07 Training Package or other endorsed national Training Package. If not listed, 1 unit may be selected from Certificate III or Diploma qualification.

All units selected are subject to the approval of the Head of School.

  • Mature: Extensive industry experience. Direct or VTAC application
