Mandatory Visa Length Cover (VLC)
Mandatory Visa Length Cover (VLC) for all student visa applicants became effective from 1 July 2010.
Current visa holders are not required to have VLC as their application has already been assessed and approved by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). If you apply for a subsequent visa after 1 July 2010 you will be required to provide evidence that you have visa length OSHC to DIAC.
Student visa expiry dates assessment, according to course length and course completion, has not changed. Find out more about visa expiry dates assessment and how they are determined from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) website.
