Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE)

We will provide you with an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) by email as proof that you have enrolled in a course. When you have your eCoE, you can apply for or renew your student visa.

Receiving your eCoE

Victoria University International will send you, your agent or your home institution an eCoE by email once you have accepted your offer to study. We will send you an eCoE under these circumstances:

  • this is your first application for a student visa
  • your application is classified as Assessment Level 1 or 2

If you are from an Assessment Level 3 or 4 category, you must provide a Pre-Visa Assessment (PVA) letter before Victoria University International can issue you an eCoE.

You can confirm your Assessment Level with the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).

When you apply for a student visa, submit your eCoE with your application to DIAC or the Australian Embassy in your country.

Completing your course

When you have completed your course, please advise Victoria University International, and we will cancel your eCoE.

Extending your studies

Victoria University can only extend your studies in limited circumstances. If you want to extend your studies, you need to apply to extend your eCoE. Your application must satisfy one of the following criteria:

  • Compassionate or compelling circumstances – such as serious injury or illness; pregnancy or childbirth; death of close family member(s); a traumatic experience; changes to the course structure or subject unavailability. (Financial difficulties or homesickness do not qualify as compelling circumstances)
  • Evidence of an intervention strategy (e.g. study plan) if you have been identified as at risk of not meeting satisfactory course progress
  • Approved Leave of Absence or suspension of study.

Submit your request for an eCoE variation for enrolled students form at least six weeks before your visa is due to expire, to Victoria University International.
