Refunds

If you withdraw from your course or a unit of study on or before the census date, you might be eligible for a refund of some fees.

You can apply for a refund by completing a Refund application.

If you are eligible for a refund, you should allow 4 to 6 weeks for your refund to be processed. Refunds are generally generated automatically, and we will post a cheque to you.

Local higher education students

If you have withdrawn from your course or any unit(s) of study or taken approved Leave of Absence, you may be eligible for a refund.  The table below will help you work out any refund of fees you may be eligible for.

If you have paid your student contribution/tuition fee up front for a given semester and have subsequently reduced your study load prior to the semester census date, you will be eligible for a refund of the difference between the original and the re-calculated student contribution/tuition fee.

NB: Semester 1 census date = 31 March, Semester 2 census date = 31 August

Local TAFE students (Certificate levels 1 - 4)

If you have withdrawn from your course or any unit(s) of study or taken an approved leave of absence, the table below will help you work out any refund of fees for which you may be eligible. If you are transferring to another institution within 4 weeks of the course start date, you will be eligible for a full refund. You must provide proof with this application.

If you have applied for a concession card and have been advised by Centrelink that you are ineligible, you will receive a refund of your fees paid, less the minimum tuition fee and materials fee if you withdraw from your course before your invoice payment due date.

Failure to formally withdraw from a course within 4 weeks of the course start date may result in you being liable for any unpaid fees.

Local TAFE students (Diploma and above level)

If you withdraw from a Unit of Study after the administrative amendment date you will incur a late enrolment fine of $45 per form.

If you withdraw from a course/unit of study after census date, you will not be eligible for a refund.
