Course Objectives
This qualification covers workers employed by State Ambulance authorities and non-emergency transport companies to provide emergency and non-emergency client care and transport services
Units and electives
To qualify for the Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) participants must successfully complete a total of 14 units of study, comprising of 7 core units and 7 elective units in accordance with the packaging rules specified in HLT07 Health Training Package and the University's approval.

To gain entry into this HLT50407 Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) a candidate must demonstrate competence through a recognised training program or recognition process, in the following units of competency:

HLTAMBCR401C Deliver basic clinical care (Note pre-requ: HLTAP401B)

HLTAMBT301B Transport non-emergency clients under operational conditions
HLTAP401B Confirm physical health status
HLTIN301C C omply with infection control policies and procedures

What's a unit?
A unit or 'subject' is the actual class you'll attend in the process of completing a course.
Most courses have a mixture of compulsory 'core' units that you need to take, and optional 'elective' units that you can choose to take based on your area of interest, expertise or experience.
Admission Information
- Year 12: You must demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Head of School and selection panel that you are capable of successfully completing the course. Be an Australian citizen Complete a TAFE Direct Admission/Supplementary Information Form and submit it by the closing date. Demonstrate sufficient language and literacy skills to be able to complete the course (as well as meeting selection criteria pertaining to appropriate interpersonal skills and professional responsibilities which are suitable for this industry) Ensure that you are able to fulfill the clinical placement requirement of the course (including a Police check) Demonstrate any past or current health and/or community experience You may be required to enrol into the Certificate IV in Health Care (Ambulance) to complete nine pre-requisite units
