Course Objectives
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are competent in a prescribed range of engineering skills. This qualification prepares students to work autonomously within the engineering industry. Work is undertaken as a technician in the mechanical and civil stream of the Engineering industry.
Units and electives
The minimum requirements for achievement of the Diploma of Engineering - Technical are:
- completion of the five core units of competency listed below, and
- 15 elective units, to bring the total number of units to 20.
Elective units must be selected as follows:
- up to eight general elective units from the list in Group A,
- at least seven specialist elective units from Group B, to bring the total number of elective units to 15.
