Composting and Worm Farming

This three hour course has been designed to teach students how  to make good quality odourless compost.

Participants will learn from practical experience how to create a compost heap and construct a worm farm.

Learn the skills necessary to:

  • correctly position a compost bin/heap and worm farm
  • match composting methods to your time requirements
  • identify materials you can put into a compost bin/worm farm
  • understand what the carbon:nitrogen ratio is and how it affects composting/worm farms
  • identify carbon and nitrogen materials
  • understand how to incorporate oxygen into your heap
  • deal with unpleasant odours
