Course Objectives

Purchasing involves the activities associated with the acquisition of materials, services and equipment used in the operation of the organisation. Purchasing and procurement activities are essential to every enterprise irrespective of the size of the organisation, or the industry sector.

Elective Units of Study - 5 units must be selected from the list below and two may be selected from any other endorsed training package and I unit may be selected from either a Certificate III or Diploma qualification with approval of the course coordinator

10 units of competency are required for award of this qualification:

  • 3 core units
  • 7 elective units

What's a unit?

A unit or 'subject' is the actual class you'll attend in the process of completing a course.

Most courses have a mixture of compulsory 'core' units that you need to take, and optional 'elective' units that you can choose to take based on your area of interest, expertise or experience.

Admission Information

  • For full time study you will need to have a minimum English level of 5.5 IELTS and to have satisfactorily completed VCE or its equivalent. You may be asked to attend an interview. Should places be available, direct application will be considered.

  3. As part of the application you may need to complete extra requirements such as:
    • submit supplementary forms
    • attend an interview, audition, information session or workshop
    • submit a folio
    • sit a test

    Details about extra requirements are available from the Faculty of Technical and Trades Innovation.

    You need to complete all extra requirements by the given dates, otherwise your application may not be considered.
