Course Objectives

This qualification has been developed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge and qualification to perform the following telecommunications services: - installation of telecommunications equipment and products on customer premises - Installation of voice and data telecommunications equipment - Assess installation requirements - plan and performing installations - testing installed equipment and fault finding.

Units and electives

Core Units of Study

To be eligible for the award ICT30208 Certificate III in Telecommunications students must successfully complete 6 units of study.

A unit or 'subject' is the actual class you'll attend in the process of completing a course.

Most courses have a mixture of compulsory 'core' units that you need to take, and optional 'elective' units that you can choose to take based on your area of interest, expertise or experience.

Admission Information

  • TAFE: All students are interviewed for selection prior to admission. Language, literacy and numeracy skills required must be Level 2 of the Australian Core Skill Framework.
  • Year 12: All students are interviewed for selection prior to admission. Language, literacy and numeracy skills required must be Level 2 of the Australian Core Skill Framework.
  • International: Not applicable
  • Mature: All students are interviewed for selection prior to admission. Language, literacy and numeracy skills required must be Level 2 of the Australian Core Skill Framework.
