Course Objectives

Provides foundaton ICT skills and knowledge for an individual to be an effective ICT user or employee.

Units and electives

Core Units of Study

Achieve all eight core units below

Elective Units of Study

Achieve 3 Elective Units chosen from the following electives list - PLUS achieve 3 Elective Units chosen from the following sources (listed in recommended order)

ICA20105 Electives list above; and or

from elsewhere in the ICA05 Information and Communications Technology Training Package ICA05 (at Certificate II or Certificate III); and/or

preferred Training Packages (BSB01 Business Services; ICT02 Telecommunications; CUF01 Film, TV, Radio and Multimedia; ICP05 Printing and Graphic Arts; WRR02 Retail, CUV03 Visual Arts, Craft and Design (at Certificate II or Certificate III); and/or

any other Training Package (at Certificate II or Certificate III) based on documented industry or enterprise need.

The course is 1 semester full-time. Full-time; Part-time; VET in Schools program

What's a unit?

A unit or 'subject' is the actual class you'll attend in the process of completing a course.

Most courses have a mixture of compulsory 'core' units that you need to take, and optional 'elective' units that you can choose to take based on your area of interest, expertise or experience.

How to apply for this course

  2. Submit a TAFE Direct Entry Application form
  3. As part of the application you may need to complete extra requirements such as:
    • submit supplementary forms
    • attend an interview, audition, information session or workshop
    • submit a folio
    • sit a test

    Details about extra requirements are available from the Faculty of Workforce Development.

    You need to complete all extra requirements by the given dates, otherwise your application may not be considered.
