The Bachelor of Business gives you options to tailor your learning to your specific needs. All students study  a common first year which is complemented in second and third years by specialisations in either two business disciplines, or a single specialisation and an area of study.

You can get credit in the (BBUS-BSPSBE) if you have studied one of these TAFE courses at VU:

  • You may get up to a year of credit.

Transferring to VU

You can get credit in the (BBUS-BSPSBE) for study you have done at other universities. We have formal credit transfer arrangements for this course with the following universities

This course is designed to equip students to deal with the challenges of operating their own business. These challenges include the intense competition both locally and internationally, dealing with technology and managing the financial aspects of the business.

Seven elective units of study

Specialisation Two - seven units of study

The combination of an Area of Study* chosen from business, legal studies, arts, science, health or engineering with electives totalling seven units of study

What's a unit?

A unit or 'subject' is the actual class you'll attend in the process of completing a course.

Most courses have a mixture of compulsory 'core' units that you need to take, and optional 'elective' units that you can choose to take based on your area of interest, expertise or experience.

Credits

Each unit is worth a set amount of study credits based on the amount of time you study. Generally, 1 credit is equal to 1 hour of study per week.

Admission Information

  • TAFE: Not applicable.
  • Year 12: To qualify for admission to the course, an applicant must have successfully completed a course of study at year 12 or equivalent*. Year 12 Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 - study score of at least 20 in English (any). Selection Mode: Current Year 12 applicants: Equivalent National Tertiary Entrance Rank (ENTER) and two-stage process with a middle-band of approximately 20%. Non-current year 12 applicants: ENTER and/or academic record*. Middle-band: consideration is given to performance in the full range of VCE studies undertaken. *
  • International: In addition to satisfying the entry requirements for Australian resident students or demonstrating equivalence, overseas students must provide evidence of proficiency in the English language:International English Language Testing System - overall score of 6 and no individual band score less than 6.0.
  • Mature: Applicants who have not completed Year 12 but who possess appropriate educational qualifications, work or life experiences which would enable them to successfully undertake the course, will be considered for admission.
  • Other:

  2. Complete the Higher education direct entry application form.
  3. As part of the application you may need to complete extra requirements such as:
    • submit supplementary forms
    • attend an interview, audition, information session or workshop
    • submit a folio
    • sit a test

You need to complete all extra requirements by the given dates, otherwise your application may not be considered.
