The Bachelor of Business - Human Resource Management specialisation develops specialist skills, underpinned by strong theoretical frameworks, used in the human resource management area. This industry-focused specialisation has professional recognition by the Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI).

The Bachelor of Business gives you options to tailor your learning to your specific needs. All students study  a common first year which is complemented in second and third years by specialisations in either two business disciplines, or a single specialisation and an area of study.

VU TAFE to undergraduate

You can get credit in the (BBUS-BSPHRM) if you have studied one of these TAFE courses at VU:

Diploma of Human Resources Management

  • You may get up to a year of credit.

Diploma of Business (Enterprise)

  • You may get up to a year of credit.

Transferring to VU

You can get credit in the (BBUS-BSPHRM) for study you have done at other universities. We have formal credit transfer arrangements for this course with the following universities

Melbourne Institute of Technology

  • If you studied the Diploma of Business you may get up to a year of credit.

HELP University College, Malaysia

  • If you studied the Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) Hons you may get up to one and a half years of credit.

Course Objectives

The course will provide students with the opportunity to specialise in human resource management while still able to select electives in the more generic management and vocational fields of industrial relations and management - service and operations.

Professional Development Units of Study

Plus

either:

Seven elective units of study

OR

Specialisation Two - seven units of study

OR

The combination of an Area of Study* chosen from business, legal studies, arts, science, health or engineering with electives totalling seven units of study

What's a unit?

A unit or 'subject' is the actual class you'll attend in the process of completing a course.

Most courses have a mixture of compulsory 'core' units that you need to take, and optional 'elective' units that you can choose to take based on your area of interest, expertise or experience.

Credits

Each unit is worth a set amount of study credits based on the amount of time you study. Generally, 1 credit is equal to 1 hour of study per week.

  2. Complete the Higher education direct entry application form.
  3. As part of the application you may need to complete extra requirements such as:
    • submit supplementary forms
    • attend an interview, audition, information session or workshop
    • submit a folio
    • sit a test

You need to complete all extra requirements by the given dates, otherwise your application may not be considered.
