Further study in the same stated timeframe will offer you the opportunity to complete Advanced Diploma of Computer Systems Engineering.

If you already have strong IT skills, have completed study in IT networking or have international IT vendor certifications, you can be assessed for advanced standing into this course.

The course develops skills to secure networks and enable businesses to complete transactions using networks and wireless/mobile technologies.

Course Objectives

Provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in planning,technical design, implementation and management of complex and high level ICT network security systems and components.

Units and electives

Core Units of Study

A minimum of eight units from the following:

Elective Units of Study

A minimum of four units from the following: Achieve 5 Elective Units. ICA05 Information and Communications Technology Training Package or BSB07 Business Services Training Package at Diploma or Advanced Diploma; and/or any other Training Package at Advanced Diploma (to a maximum of 3 units) based on documented industry or enterprise needs.

To attain the ICA60208: Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (Network Security) 17 units must be achieved: - 8 core units; plus - 9 elective units

Students will be required to complete the Diploma in Information Technology (General) [ICA50105] in order to meet the prerequisite requirements for some of the competencies within this qualification

What's a unit?

A unit or 'subject' is the actual class you'll attend in the process of completing a course.

Most courses have a mixture of compulsory 'core' units that you need to take, and optional 'elective' units that you can choose to take based on your area of interest, expertise or experience.

Admission Information

  • Students will be required to complete the Diploma in Information Technology (General) [ICA50105] in order to meet the prerequisite requirements for some of the competencies within this qualification

  3. As part of the application you may need to complete extra requirements such as:
    • submit supplementary forms
    • attend an interview, audition, information session or workshop
    • submit a folio
    • sit a test

    You need to complete all extra requirements by the given dates, otherwise your application may not be considered.
