Course Objectives

Accounting skills are in high demand particularly for professionals who can demonstrate knowledge in the areas of corporate governance, applying economic principles, tax planning and producing high quality management accounting information. Our Advanced Diploma of Accounting course is designed to offer these skills as well the Tax Law Skill Set required for individuals who would like to operate as Taxation Agents.

This qualification is designed to reflect the role of individuals working in the industry in areas such as financial accounting, company accounting, management accounting, internal control, taxation law and computer accounting and are seeking professional identification.

This course will equip students with the knowledge to prepare complex tax returns, analyse and prepare management accounting information, interpret and use financial statistical tools and the skills to monitor corporate governance activities; and eligibility to apply for associate membership of the National Institute of Accountants. On completion of this program students may apply to universities to study a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business, or similar course.

What's a unit?

A unit or 'subject' is the actual class you'll attend in the process of completing a course.

Most courses have a mixture of compulsory 'core' units that you need to take, and optional 'elective' units that you can choose to take based on your area of interest, expertise or experience.

Admission Information

  • TAFE: NA
  • Year 12: Successful completion of VCE or equivalent
  • International: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
  • Mature: Relevant Industry experience or completion of relevant qualification.
