Represent VU in sport
All Victoria University (VU) students are eligible to represent the University in regional, national and international competitions including the Australian University Games.
You can also volunteer your services in a variety of areas including sports administration, managing, coaching and refereeing.

University Games
Students can represent VU in their sport at regional and national championships held during the mid semester breaks. It is a great opportunity to represent your university at a large scale multi sport event and meet people across VU and from all over Australia.
Australian University Games

VU's Taekwondo team won gold at the 2012 Australian University Games
The 2013 Australian University Games (AUG) will be held in Gold Coast from 29 September through to 4 October. With over 40 universities around Australia participating in 29 sports the event was a great week of sport and fun.
Sports included: Athletics, Australian Rules Football, Futsal, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Cycling, Fencing, Golf, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kendo, Lawn Bowls, Netball, Rugby Union 7’s, Football, Sailing, Softball, Squash, Swimming, Surfing, Table tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Ten Pin Bowling, Touch, Twenty20 Cricket, Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball and Water polo.

Southern University Games
The Southern University Games (SUG) is being held in Ballarat from 7 - 11 July 2013. Here, you will compete for VU against universities from the southern region of Australia. It is a great competition and opportunity to go away with VU students across a range of sports. This event is also all important preparation for the 2012 Australian University Games being held in Gold Coast in September.
Sports included as part of the 2012 Southern University Games;
Australian Rules Football, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Indoor Cricket, Futsal, Golf, Hockey, Lawn Bowls, Netball, Soccer, Squash, Tennis, Tenpin Bowling, Touch, Ultimate Frisbee and Volleyball.
Australian University Championship Snow Sports
The 2013 Australian University Snow Sports Championship is going to be held 25 - 30 August at Thredbo, NSW. The event attracts the countries best skiers and snowboarders to compete against more than 300 students over five days of competition.
World University Games and Championships
Students selected to compete at World University Games and Championships receive support from the University and are nominated to receive VU sport awards. Team selection is organised by the national sport organisation for that particular sport so visit the Australian University sport calendar for full details.
Sports administration opportunities
Each year we rely on enthusiastic, organised and dedicated volunteers to get involved in our many sports program.
One opportunity is serving as a Sport Manager for the Representative sport (Uni games) Program. Sport Team Managers provide a vital link between athletes and the Sport Service Unit and are recognised under the Student Leadership Framework.
