Victoria University provides a range of services, programs and resources to support alumni in their careers.

Personal and Professional Development Program

Alumni Relations offers a number of seminars to alumni as part of the Personal & Professional Development Program. Seminars have included :

  • 'Managing your Career in the 21st Century',
  • 'Cross Cultural Communications Skills in a Global Business Environment'
  • 'Health & Wellbeing'.

 Seminars are subsidised for alumni to keep attendance costs down.

Life Long Learning

If you're thinking of updating your skills or qualifications there are short courses, TAFE, Undergraduate or Postgraduate options available.  Financial alumni community members can take advantage of a 10% discount off short courses.

Career Help

VU's Student Career Development (SCD) department provides of wide range of web-based careers resources that alumni can access to help their career development and preparation.

Graduates in their first 2 years from graduation are also eligible for

  • Careers counselling,
  • Attendance at the annual Graduate Careers Fair in March
  • Career education programs
  • Access to job vacancy information via the careers website .

These services assist new graduates to refine their written job applications, prepare for interviews, enhance their job search strategies and consider career choices.

VU Library

The University Library has a large holding of careers resources on a broad range of topics that  financial alumni members can access.  Books and videos are available on subjects such as:

  • Career preparation (job search strategies, interview preparation, written applications),
  • Career change,
  • Career planning and more

To enjoy the advantage of accessing the library's services, become a financial member of the alumni community.

Student Career Development  (SCD) will advertise your vacancies on a website  available to all students - from Higher Ed and TAFE, and across all campuses.
